# KanbanThing > A free kanban board with no account, no sign-up and no API key. Boards live at > a shareable URL, are protected by a password set when they are created, and are > deleted when they expire. AI agents drive the same boards over a hosted MCP > server that needs no credentials. An agent can create and run a board end to end: there is nothing to register for and no key to issue, which is what separates KanbanThing from task boards that require an account before anything can be written. ## For agents - [MCP server](https://www.kanbanthing.com/mcp): Streamable HTTP, no auth. Tools: create_board, get_board, list_columns, list_cards, create_card, move_card, update_card, delete_card. - [Agent skill](https://www.kanbanthing.com/skill.md): a SKILL.md that teaches an agent the board contract and conventions. Drop it in ~/.claude/skills/kanbanthing/, a .cursor rule, or an AGENTS.md. - [Setup and tool reference](https://www.kanbanthing.com/agents): how to connect each MCP client, what every tool takes, and worked prompts. - [Command line client](https://www.kanbanthing.com/cli): `npm i -g kanbanthing`. Every command takes --json. Every tool needs a board_id the user supplied - a UUID or a board URL - plus the board password. There is deliberately no way to list or search boards. ## For people - [KanbanThing](https://www.kanbanthing.com/): create a board, name it, share the link. - [About](https://www.kanbanthing.com/about): what the board does and what it deliberately does not. - [Guides](https://www.kanbanthing.com/guides): choosing columns, retrospectives, personal kanban, sharing links. - [Privacy](https://www.kanbanthing.com/privacy) - [Terms](https://www.kanbanthing.com/terms) Boards themselves are not indexed and are not listed anywhere.
